The Bangor Daily News reported that the University of Maine will join the town of Orono and the city of Bangor in efforts to create a regional climate action plan that will stretch across Penobscot County. UMaine, home of the Climate Change Institute, is working to finalize a memorandum of understanding with the municipalities. News Center Maine also reported on UMaine’s participation in the regional climate action plan and interviewed President Joan Ferrini-Mundy about it. “Once we get this MOU finalized, which will be very soon, then we will be working more deeply with our partners to really take a look at what the research tells us and where we can make a difference,” she said.
