Description

I began my Master’s program at the University of Maine after graduating from SUNY ESF in May of 2020 with a Bachelor’s degree in Aquatic and Fisheries Science. As a research assistant in the Bricknell lab, my work primarily pertains to investigating aspects of the biology of sea lice (Lepeophtheirus salmonis) that are pertinent for incorporation in a Decision Support System for Atlantic salmon farmers in Cobscook Bay, Maine, USA. This consists of field and laboratory aspects, as well as computer-based modeling. I am particularly interested in how current velocity affects the settlement success of sea lice on Atlantic salmon, and how water temperature and associated sea lice larval development times influence the likelihood of successful infection. Outside of the lab, my interests include running, weight-lifting, cooking, and enjoying the great outdoors of Maine.
