Fruit Trees as a Business

April 13 @ 12:30 pm - 4:30 pm

Renae Moran will be teaching the basics of commercial tree fruit production including spraying, pruning and thinning. To be held in the classroom, behind the barn.  Highmoor Farm is located at 52 US Route 202, Monmouth, Maine 04259.

There is no registration fee.

Schedule

1:00 p.m.: Crop Protection — Common insect pests and diseases, spray materials

2:00 p.m.: BREAK

2:15 p.m.: Crop Load Management and Fruit Thinning

2:45 p.m.: BREAK

3:00 p.m.: Pruning Practices — Training systems and pruning techniques

3:30 p.m.: Pruning Demonstration in the Orchard (weather permitting)
