Timothy Waring
Tim Waring is an associate professor in the School of Economics, and holds a research position in the Mitchell Center for Sustainability Solutions at the University of Maine. He also leads the Applied Cultural Evolution Laboratory which develops and promotes an applied science of beneficial social change. Dr. Waring studies the evolution of human culture generally with a special focus on environmental behaviors and institutions using agent simulation, behavioral experiments and case study analysis. Dr. Waring also studies the interaction between genes and culture in long term human evolution. His research has been published in PNAS, Behavioral and Brain Sciences, Philosophical Proceedings B, Evolutionary Economics, and Evolutionary Human Sciences. Dr. Waring’s research has also been featured on National Public Radio, and the New York Times.
