Additional Safety Resource: Black Bear Safe App
UMPD also offers the Black Bear Safe mobile app, which provides additional safety services and resources for the UMaine and UMaine Machias communities. The app includes quick access to UMPD, emergency call features, campus safety information, crime prevention tips, and other tools designed to help keep you informed, connected, and safe. We encourage all students, faculty, and staff to download the Black Bear Safe app. Downloading the Black Bear Safe app does not replace the need to sign up for emergency notifications as referenced above.
