Yifeng Zhu specializes in machine learning, distributed and parallel computing, and computer architecture. His recent work advances adaptive, explainable AI that is data-efficient, trustworthy, and deployable across domains such as cancer diagnostics, intelligent manufacturing, and large-scale scientific simulation. He bridges algorithmic innovation with real-world deployment through interdisciplinary collaborations, integrating model design with scalable computing and rigorous evaluation. Yifeng has served as PI or Co-PI on 17 externally funded projects supported by NSF, NASA, and other federal agencies, securing more than $30 million in research support.
