Charlie Emerson has 20 years’ experience as an athletic trainer and leader in collegiate and secondary school settings. He has presented at national and regional conferences on a variety of topics, including his current areas of interest: leadership, conflict management and the sociology of sport. His teaching focus is clinical application of athletic training, focused on therapeutic and interpersonal skills, as well as leadership and management strategies. He is enrolled in the Ph.D. in Adult Learning and Leadership program at Kansas State University, completing his dissertation on the influences of athletics culture on the coach-athletic trainer relationship.
