Barbara Howard is the Director of the Bachelor of University Studies at the University of Maine, Division of Lifelong Learning (DLL). She has extensive experience with adult learners through both practice and organizations. A member of the DLL team since 1990, she has supported adult learners in several capacities, ranging from advising to developing programming and policies for this population. She has served on the University of Maine System, University of Maine, and State of Maine Credit for Prior Learning Assessment work groups. Additionally, she has supported UPCEA New England through its administration, including serving as president of UPCEA New England and as a national commissioner. She remains ever active in the adult learner realm through presentations and research. Barbara was also an instructor for the School of Human Development, Child and Family Studies, and is now an adjunct faculty member for the College of Education and Human Development.
