Amanda Hafford, M.Ed.

Amanda Hafford serves as the Assistant Director of the Division of Lifelong Learning (DLL) Advising Center and Student Support at the University of Maine. In this leadership role, she oversees the strategic operations of the advising center, directing student support and supervising a dedicated team of advisors. A champion for non-traditional student populations, Amanda manages communication and enrollment campaigns as well as student support for over 500+ online students from matriculation through graduation across 27 graduate degrees and certificates.

With nearly a decade of experience within the University of Maine System, Amanda’s career reflects a trajectory of rapid advancement and expanding institutional influence. She began her tenure with the Division of Lifelong Learning in May 2017 as a Graduate Assistant before rising through consecutive promotions to Senior Advisor and, ultimately, Assistant Director. Alongside her administrative leadership, Amanda serves as an Adjunct Faculty member in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, teaching first-year seminars focused on academic planning, student accountability, and campus resource navigation. Her commitment to higher education is further demonstrated through her past service as the University’s NC-SARA Representative, her work on the UMS State Authorization Compliance Committee, and her regional leadership as the former Board Chair for the UPCEA New England Region Planning Committee.

An alumna of the University of Maine, Amanda holds a Master of Education in Special Education and a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education. Her deep-seated expertise in student advocacy, combined with data-driven support strategies, ensures the continuous delivery of responsive, high-quality educational services across the university community.
