Guest Seating
Commencement guest tickets will be required for all guests to enter Alfond Sports Arena for the Saturday ceremonies. Guest tickets are not needed for the Graduate School’s Friday ceremony.
Seating is general admission for all ceremonies. Floor seating is reserved for graduating students, faculty and individuals with ADA accessibility needs.
Doors open:
Friday at 2:30 p.m.
Saturday at 8 a.m. for the morning ceremony; 1 p.m. for the afternoon ceremony

Concessions
Food and beverage refreshments will be available inside Alfond Arena.
University of Maine Merchandise
University of Maine merchandise will be available for purchase at Bear Necessities in Alfond Arena and at University Bookstore in the Memorial Union.
Parking
Complimentary parking is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Shuttle buses will run continuously beginning at 8 a.m. on Saturday from designated parking lots on campus to Alfond Arena and back. Shuttle buses will provide transportation to Alfond Arena from the following parking lots: Collins Center for the Arts, the Steam Plant Lot on College Avenue, Belgrade Lot on Belgrade Road and Hilltop Lot on Rangeley Road.
Guests with ADA accessibility needs will be directed to the appropriate parking area by University Police. If you have a special needs permit, have it displayed.
Attendance Policies
Alcohol — Maine laws and university regulations prohibit alcohol at Commencement ceremonies. This policy is strictly enforced.
Backpacks, large bags and strollers — Backpacks, large tote bags and strollers are not permitted in Alfond Arena.
Smoking — The University of Maine is a tobacco-free campus.
No reentry — Reentry into the ceremonies will not be permitted.
Each ceremony will last up to three hours. For safety reasons, no person, other than credentialed photographers and staff, can approach the stage for any reason. Guests should remain seated for the duration of the ceremony until the stage party and faculty have left the arena.
