Providing effective feedback to students has been shown to improve learning and motivate students more than grades. It is also a more inclusive and equitable strategy for learning. Yet often students fail to engage in the feedback process. We will discuss some basic characteristics of good feedback, and ways to deliver feedback, ending with a discussion of strategies to engage students in the process.
