How to Help Students Prepare for a UMaine Application or Transcript Review Session:
Guidance counselors play an essential role in helping students make the most of their 15-minute appointment with a UMaine admissions counselor. Before a session, students should:
- Have their current academic records (transcripts, test scores, and GPA information)
- Complete a draft of their application (seniors + transfers)
- Prepare questions about majors, campus life, scholarships, or the admissions process
- Reflect on academic and extracurricular achievements to discuss during the meeting
