International students may ONLY pursue this certificate online and from their country of citizenship.

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to use a scientific calculator with trigonometry functions
  • Three or more credits of college-level pre-calculus or higher with a minimum grade of C- or a minimum College Level Examination Program (CLEP) score of 50

Curriculum

The following courses are required (9 credits):

  • SVT 101: Basic Surveying Field and Office Processes (3 credits)
    Co-requisites: MAT 122 or 76 or higher on the math placement exam (ALEKS)
  • SVT 202: Route and Site Surveying (3 credits)
    Prerequisites: SVT 101 or CET 101, and MAT 122 or MAT 126 or MAT 127 or Math Placement Examination (ALEKS) score of 76 or higher
    Prerequisites waived, with instructor permission, for students with two or more years of professional surveying engineering experience
  • SVT 221: Boundary Law (3 credits)

Choose two courses from the following (6 credits):

  • SVT 201: Adjustment Computations (3 credits)
  • SVT 331: Photogrammetry (3 credits)
  • SVT 322: Preparing Effective Property Descriptions (3 credits)
  • SVT 341: Advanced Surveying (3 credits)
  • SVT 352: Practical Field Operations (3 credits)
  • SVT 437: Practical GNSS (3 credits)

Students enrolled in this certificate can take up to 21 credits at the e-rate. After 21 credits, they must be admitted into an undergraduate or graduate degree program to receive the e-rate. Otherwise, standard tuition rates may apply.
