Avon
Welcome to Avon!
The town of Avon was settle after the American Revolution and incorporated in 1802. Like many towns in the area, Avon thrived with favorable soil for farming and rich forests for lumber. The lumber industry continues today, and Avon has become more of an outdoor recreation destination for its proximity to Mount Blue State Park and other area attractions.

- This trail offers a short but challenging hike of about 3 miles to the summit of Mount Blue, located in southwest Avon, offering fabulous views from the old fire tower on Mount Blue’s 3,187 foot summit.
