Sara Henry

Sara Henry is the Director of Student Accessibility Services at the University of Maine. She was a UMDLI participant in the 2010 cohort when she attended the National Conference on Race and Ethnicity (NCORE). Sara has worked in the field of college access and disability services for over 30 years. She served as president of the Vermont Educational Opportunity Association, president of the Maine Educational Opportunity Association, Vice President of the New England Educational Opportunity Association, secretary of the New England Association on Higher Education, and is the coordinator for the UMS Disability Network. Sara is a trained facilitator who has done presentations on a wide range of topics including disability, ableism, access and equity in education, assistive technology, resilience, facilitation skills training, universal design, and helping students with disabilities during the transition from high school to college. Sara has bachelor’s and master’s degrees in education from the University of Vermont.
