Maine Residency Classification

Tuition rate is determined by the student’s residency at the time of admissions.

Generally, students must live in Maine for non-educational purposes for at least one year prior to enrollment in order to be considered in-state students.

Change of Residency Classification Procedure

To appeal for a change in tuition status, the residency packet must be submitted to the The Office of Student Financial Services before the first day of classes of the term for which residency is requested. All applications are prospective.

The Residency Appeal Committee will issue a written decision via email within 30 days.

Members or Veterans of the U.S. Armed Forces

A current member of the United States Armed Forces, a Veteran of the United States Armed Forces who has been honorably discharged, and dependents using a GI Bill™ will be billed at the in-state tuition rate.

Service members and Veterans must supply a Military ID Card, DD214, or Certificate of Eligibility for GI bill™.
