Facilitating the professional development of women and minority faculty is critical to meeting University of Maine diversity goals. The Rising Tide Center employs a variety of strategies for advancing equity including an awards program, mentoring, training, topical workshops and presentations, time management offerings, and grant funding that supports professional skill development and career advancement.
The President Susan J. Hunter Fund, an endowment established to honor UMaine’s first woman president, will provide funding for professional development, with preference given to women and underrepresented minority faculty at UMaine and UMaine Machias.
