Melanie Spencer

Melanie Spencer, Proposal Development Associate for Special Projects in the ORD, helps faculty meet their external funding goals and advance research and scholarship by providing grant seeking and grant development support. She assists individuals and teams in identifying funding opportunities, building grants knowledge and capacity, and developing, preparing, and submitting competitive project proposals to federal and private funders. Melanie has worked in a variety of university, non-profit, and for-profit leadership roles related to communications, education, public service, resource development, and project design and development. She is a certified grant professional (GPC) with the Grant Professionals Certification Institute and attended Bates College and the University of Missouri Columbia School of Journalism.
