Jason Charland
Jason C. Charland is the Director of the Office of Research Development at the University of Maine, reporting directly to the Vice President for Research and Dean of the Graduate School. He is responsible for facilitating the development of grant proposals to advance UMaine’s signature and emerging areas of excellence; providing grant writing professional development for faculty and researchers; and overseeing internal grant programs. Jason also supports engagement and outreach to Maine’s congressional delegation in support of UMaine research and serves as the Program Manager for the University of Maine System’s Research Reinvestment Fund (RRF) that is designed to promote research, development, and commercialization. Jason and has over ten years of grantsmanship experience in public health and higher education settings. He served as the Grants Management Coordinator for the College of Education and Human Development from 2012 – 2014 and has been a senior staff member of the Office of the Vice President for Research and Dean of the Graduate School since 2014.
