Background

Tanya is a lifelong native of Maine, having lived in both the Portland and Bangor areas. She has over sixteen years’ experience working with Maine Medical Center and Northern Light Health, advancing information technology electronic health record solutions, as well as experience in software security risk management. Tanya has worked in numerous healthcare locations from Portland to Presque Isle, with a vast number of project teams, collaborating in the design, build, testing, implementation, and education of electronic health records, with both Cerner and EPIC software. She has extensive knowledge in both ambulatory and inpatient settings, as well as having key collaborations in the design and installation of EPIC software used at the Hannaford Simulation Center. In addition, she has experience in health information data security and vendor risk management. Tanya’s passions are in accurate and efficient data collection and sharing of patient health information, in efforts to optimize research and patient care outcomes. In this role she will be working closely with the faculty of UMaine, as well as medical professionals across the state to bring to fruition the goals of UMaine Medicine.
