Activities Archives

While we have not been great about archiving our past activities, here are a few from the past:

Spring Semester, 2021

LoveA. PIFSAK: Pay it forward with simple acts of kindness: Social media posting and sharing, Letters to Troops.

C. Our major initiative for the spring semester was a fund-raiser to support the Maine Veterans Project  called MBS Corps Heroes and Hope. This wonderful local organization works to reduce Veteran suicide and help Veterans who struggle with PTSD.

We did a variety of fund-raising activities including a Go-Fund-Me page: https://www.gofundme.com/f/mbscorp-heroes-hope?qid=fb6726e3ef4fb6009a74eb13b7a61115 We also did a social media campaign to create awareness about MVP as well as appearances on the three major television stations. Finally, a direct appeal to local businesses was successful with major donations from Maine Savings Federal Credit Union and Bangor Savings Bank among others.

Adopt a family 2020

Adopt a Family: was a success! Thank you to Nicole, Joyce, and everyone else in the MBS Corps and friends who donated gifts and funds, worked to promote this event, do the shopping and provide gifts to children/families in need. A total of about $2250 in gifts and donations provided wonderful gifts.

We also did our annual Adopt a Family in support of the Salvation Army and raised about $2250 to purchase toys for children in need in the area. In the spring semester, 2021, we continued PIFSAK (pay it forwar
