About Us
The MBS Corps was founded in 2005 by Dr. Nory Jones and Dr. John Mahon as the CSR (corporate social responsibility) student organization of the Maine Business School.
Meet the wonderful people who make the MBS Corps a great organization! We have been fortunate to have some of the most incredible people run and participate in this team over the years. In fact, we have just started a new MBS Corps Advisory/Alumni Board of Directors to help us by providing their expertise.

Spring semester; senior at University of Maine Orono. I declared my Major of business management and joined MBS Corps in my third semester at school and immediately felt at home. Being able to help others in my community and give back has always been important to me. I grew up in Maine, as part of a small island community an hour and a half south of the Orono campus. I’m excited for the everything to come.

Shelby Philips
President, MBS Corps: Shelby Philips is a Business Management major from Buffalo, NY. As a non-traditional student, this is her second and final year at the University of Maine. During her tenure as President, Shelby hopes to lead the push to reinvigorate MBS Corps and to establish policies and procedures to streamline future recruiting and organizing efforts. Like many other student organizations, MBS Corp recruitment efforts faced challenges during the COVID-19 pandemic. Shelby is ecstatic to have the opportunity to lead MBS Corps through this period of renewal and to set her successors up for success. Outside of MBS Corps, Shelby is a co-producer in charge of fundraising for the short film project Georgette in the Garden and enjoys reading, cooking, and playing tabletop games with her friends and family.

President - I joined MBS Corps in February 2021. I am a senior finance major. I’ve always had a passion for helping others, and this club is the perfect fit for me! My favorite event MBS Corps does is Adopt a Family. I love being able to make a difference in families that need our help the most. My hobbies include spending time with family and friends, painting, skiing, and swimming.
