I study sinking particles and their fluxes in the ocean, to better understand their role in the biological carbon pump. My work is especially focused on a new, trap-deployable and low cost imaging sensor (SnoCam+) to study these particles. I will be testing and validating data from the SnoCam+ to other traditionally used methods of measuring sinking particle fluxes such as sediment traps.
