Joelle Kilchenmann
I’m an alumna of Northeastern University and the Three Seas Program, having graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in 2015. I joined the University of Maine as a trainee in the NSF One Health and the Environment National Research Traineeship in 2021.
In my PhD work, I am part of both the Ecology and Environmental Sciences program and the School of Marine Science where I think about how natural resource dependent communities are responding to both cumulative and rapid change. I specifically work with Maine’s lobster fleet and explore how different adaptation strategies impact physical risk at sea by bringing together socioeconomic and environmental data through interdisciplinary methods.
