Kendra Bird studied archaeology, climate change, spatial information science, and geographic information systems at the University of Maine. She currently teaches full-time in the Computer Technology department at Eastern Maine Community College, and is a member of the University’s Associate Graduate Faculty, teaching primarily in the Digital Curation and Data Science and Engineering graduate programs, all within the Maine College of Engineering and Computing. She has also taught undergraduate courses in Computer Science and New Media. Formerly the manager of the Northeastern Prehistory Laboratory in the Department of Anthropology, Kendra’s archaeological interests focus on New England and the Canadian Maritimes, and she enjoys exploring the intersection of technologies such as virtual reality and augmented reality with existing archaeological approaches.
