Managed all aspects of a land surveying office, from initial client consultation and writing of proposal, to responsible charge of land surveying crews, draftsmen, legal researchers and CADD technicians, to billing of client (including court action for nonpayment).

Managed all aspects of land surveying and civil engineering associated with land subdivisions and developments including: cadastral surveying; construction layout; residential, commercial and industrial site planning and design; hydrological analysis and design; sanitary sewage design and water system design.
Specialized in:

  • performing the final check of all boundary line plans and subdivision plans created by the office.
  • negotiating with hostile neighbors and neighborhood groups opposed to client’s subdivision or site development project.
  • negotiating with planning boards, zoning boards of appeals, conservation commissions and boards of health over technical and sensitive issues.
  • testifying as an expert witness in many boundary disputes in front of the Massachusetts Land Court and Massachusetts Superior Court.
  • working as a consultant for planning boards, conservation commissions and boards of health in reviewing other land surveyor and civil engineering firms’ plans and designs.
  • determining boundary lines for difficult cases as well as for original registration of land before the Massachusetts Land Court.
  • obtaining permits for work subject to wetlands and other environmental concerns, subdivision control law and other governmental regulations.
