Facilitating constructive dialogue in the classroom

In an era of increasing polarization and rapid change, it is essential for faculty to learn to guide students from argument and towards constructive dialogue. This six-part series will support instructors in understanding constructive dialogue, the importance of proper preparation for it in your courses, as well as recognizing and responding to conflict.  Through practice, reflection and discussion participants will expand their facilitation skills to support constructive dialogue.

Alternate Fridays from 1:00-2:00pm starting on September 26th

Note: The following 30 minutes (2:00-2:30) will be reserved for extended conversations and crowdsourcing challenges, but not required for the program.

This program was developed for UMaine faculty and staff in response to ideas and insights that emerged from the Navigating the Shifting Landscapes of Higher Education discussion series.
