Jens Kaus, Ph.D.
Jens Kaus is a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Maine’s Maine Business School and previously held a Visiting PhD Scholar appointment at the University of Michigan’s Erb Institute for Global Sustainable Enterprise. He completed his PhD in Sustainable Entrepreneurship at the University of Groningen in the Netherlands, where his research focused on the intersection of entrepreneurship, sustainability, and context. His doctoral work explored the nuanced social dynamics and contextual factors that drive the emergence and development of sustainable entrepreneurial ecosystems, with an emphasis on non-metropolitan regions.
Before pursuing his PhD, Jens contributed to entrepreneurial initiatives in Munich, Germany, and San Francisco, California, collaborating with public and private partners to support and enhance innovative business endeavors. He holds an MA in Globalisation, Business, and Development from the University of Sussex’s Institute of Development Studies in the UK and a BA in International Business and Social Sciences from Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences in Germany.
