Brief Biography: My earliest experiences with ecology came from exploring Long Island’s Great South Bay with my family as a child. By high school and college, I came to learn that I could use science as a tool to understand the natural world that I loved and respected. In graduate school at the University of Maine, I solidified these interests and built my skills, guided by encouraging mentors and peers. I strive to always approach my research with curiosity, compassion, and creativity.

Current Research: I am an ecologist and biogeographer by training, and my research uses data-driven approaches to understand patterns of biodiversity across scales. I work with large and diverse datasets in primarily geospatial contexts to understand the spatial distributions and ecological tolerances of species–past, present, and future.

Area(s) of Expertise: Ecology, Biogeography, Macroecology, Spatial Ecology, Global Change Biology
