Augmented Reality for Virtual Nursing Education
The VEMI Lab, in collaboration with UMaine Institute of Medicine’s Valerie Herbert, has published a new peer-reviewed journal article related to nursing education. The work, entitled “Developing a Smartphone App With Augmented Reality to Support Virtual Learning of Nursing Students on Heart Failure” describes a study in which Junior level nursing students at the University of Maine experienced a new clinical training tool. Information regarding heart failure was conveyed to students utilizing a smartphone AR app and 3D heart visualization with integrated swipe-through lessons. The new piece was published in Clinical Simulations in Nursing.
