This scenic trail is great for bikers, walkers, fishermen, birders, picnics, and skiing! Starting at the Riverfront Park, the trail follows the Meduxnekeag River.
This 37-mile trail runs mostly through farmland and occasionally goes into forests and wetlands. It is part of a 1,200-mile network of thoroughfares for ATVs in the county, which is the largest east of the Mississippi River.
Spacious grass sites, bathhouse, and laundry room. The recreation and dining rooms are great for groups to have meals, dances, reunions, and other get-togethers. They are open from May 5 to October 9, pets are allowed, and Wi-Fi is available.

Weekend-long event in mid-May welcoming over 30 brewers and wineries from throughout the state of Maine.
Come enjoy a day at the Houlton with rides, games, photo /painting contests, and concession stands (food and merchandise). There’s also a pig scramble, mud runs, farm animals, pony rides, and much more. The event takes place on the 4th of July weekend.

This annual spring event has taken place for over 35 years. About 100 paddlers will enter the river in New Limerick and race 9.5 miles to the Riverfront Park, where they’ll also enjoy lunch after finishing.
During the 4th of July weekend, this festival takes place in Market Square with vendors, food, and fun with a street fair vibe. There are fireworks sponsored by area businesses as well.
Open-air market featuring locally grown-and-produced items, including vegetables, meats, cheese, baked goods, plants, and crafts. It is open on Saturdays from 9:00 am – 1:00 pm, Memorial Day weekend through October, rain or shine!
The Aroostook County Historic and Art Museum home was built in 1903. The original house at the site burned in 1902 and was rebuilt on the same foundation. The last owner was Stella White, who deeded it to the Town to be used as a museum. It was used as the Red Cross Headquarters during WWII. The building was designated as a National Historic Building in 1975.

This theater, built in 1919, is one of the state’s oldest continuously operated movie theaters. It has kept its original fixtures wherever possible and has recently been updated and modernized. They also have fun specials, including free popcorn when you bring your own bowl on Wednesday nights and do birthdays and other events.
This river flows through Houlton, and a great access point is at the Riverfront Park. It is in a beautiful, scenic location, great for fishing, birdwatching, and swimming.
