Brightspace
Some of your courses may use Brightspace as an online component of the class. In Brightspace, your instructor may post the syllabus, collect assignments, incorporate class discussions, post quizzes, and more. Not all courses use Brightspace, but if they do it is essential that you check Brigthspace regularly for important class information.

Math Placement Exam (ALEKS Assessment)
About two thirds of the majors offered at UMaine, as well as many minors, require a specific course or courses in mathematics, or another course that necessitates placement in math. Unless you already have another source of placement information, the ALEKS PPL Assessment will be used to determine which math courses line up best with your math skills.
