The Center for Student Involvement (CSI), part of the Division of Student Life, serves as the central hub for campus activities. A key priority of CSI is to create and support positive out-of-the-classroom experiences and interactions.
We provide a wide array of opportunities for engagement within the undergraduate student population. Our functional areas offer almost endless possibilities for students to find a connection.
The Center for Student Involvement (CSI) also oversees initiatives such as UMaine UVote and the eSports arena, further broadening the spectrum of student engagement opportunities. UMaine UVote is dedicated to promoting civic engagement and voter participation among students, providing resources and organizing events to ensure that students are informed and active citizens. Additionally, the eSports arena offers a facility for gaming enthusiasts, fostering a sense of community through competitive and recreational gaming activities.

Campus Activities plays a vital role in building a sense of community and inclusion by organizing weekly events at the Memorial Union, orchestrating large-scale campus gatherings like Family and Friends Weekend, and partnering with campus and local organizations to offer students unique experiences beyond the classroom.
We provide meaningful opportunities that link students and their families to the University Community. Dedicated to enriching the student experience, we coordinate a wide variety of events, activities, and resources aimed at fostering a unique campus culture.

Fraternities and sororities enhance the quality of student life at the University of Maine. Their commitment to the ideals of the social Greek-letter community promotes and provides for their members’ academic support, leadership development, avenues in which to develop life-long friendships, and opportunities to participate in service to the community. The Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life strives to ensure the health and vitality of the University of Maine fraternity and sorority community. The Greeks’ actions, ideals, and services make a positive contribution to the University’s mission. To promote the ideals of the fraternity and sorority community, the Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life serves as a resource center for the community and focal point for all fraternity and sorority related activities and events.

Through their hard work and dedication, these students play a vital role in building a supportive and dynamic UMaine environment, leaving a lasting legacy for their peers and future generations.

Student organizations at the University of Maine provide opportunities for students to explore their passions and identities beyond the classroom. All students are encouraged to participate and there is a space for every area of interest. The Den
Nestled within room 151 of the Memorial Union, The Den serves as the hub of student engagement at the University of Maine. This welcoming space, operated by the Center for Student Involvement, offers a relaxed atmosphere for students to connect, unwind, and participate in campus life. Open from 10:00 AM to 4:30 PM on Mondays and Tuesdays, and extending its hours to 6:00 PM Wednesday through Friday, The Den provides a consistent haven for students throughout the week. Beyond its daily accessibility, it also functions as a valuable resource for student organizations, offering reservable meeting and event space, fostering a sense of community and collaborative spirit within the UMaine student body.
eSports Arena
Located in room 131 of the Memorial Union, The University of Maine eSports Arena facility is equipped with high-performance gaming PCs, consoles, and an array of the latest gaming peripherals, providing students with a professional-grade environment to hone their skills. The arena serves as a hub for UMaine’s growing eSports community, hosting tournaments, team practices, and casual gaming events and is open from 2pm – 11pm every day of the week.
By integrating eSports into its campus culture, UMaine not only supports the aspirations of its competitive gamers but also embraces the evolving landscape of digital entertainment and its educational potential.


UMaine UVote
The University of Maine’s UVote program is a dynamic initiative designed to encourage and facilitate student participation in the democratic process. Launched with the goal of increasing voter registration and turnout among the university’s student body, UVote provides a comprehensive suite of resources and support. This includes voter registration drives, informational sessions on the importance of civic engagement, and assistance with absentee ballots and polling locations. The program also leverages technology to reach students, utilizing social media campaigns and online platforms to disseminate crucial election information and reminders. Through UVote, UMaine empowers its students to make informed decisions and exercise their right to vote, fostering a culture of active citizenship and political awareness on campus.
