Ann Hartman, LCSW
Ann Hartman, LCSW, has been a part-time faculty member at the School of Social Work at the University of Maine since 2011, and she teaches the specialization year field seminar (SWK 695) in both the on-campus and online-blended programs. She began her position as MSW Distance Program Coordinator at the School in January, 2022, and in that role mentors students and is a member of the Internship Team. She received the 2018 School of Social Work Outstanding Alumna Award and the 2023 Outstanding Staff Award for the College of Natural Sciences, Farming and Agriculture.
Ann is a clinical social worker who has provided individual and family therapy through her private practice since 2004. She has served as a clinical consultant in several settings over the years, and continues in that role with Rape Response Services. She started her career at Wings for Children and Families in Bangor and then as a school social worker at Nokomis Regional High School. She volunteers on the Curriculum, Admissions, Academic Standing and Equity Stewardship School of Social Work committees, and she co-facilitated the Racial Equity and Liberatory Teaching Community of Practice among School of Social Work faculty in the spring semesters of 2023 and 2024. She is a member of the NASW-ME JEDI committee, the Greater Bangor Area Branch NAACP, the Juneteenth Downeast planning group, and the Wabanaki Alliance Coalition Building Team.
