Ann Hartman, LCSW
Ann Hartman, LCSW, has been a part-time faculty member at the School of Social Work at the University of Maine since 2011. She teaches the specialization year field seminar (SWK 695) in both the campus and online-blended programs, and she began teaching Human Behavior in the Social Environment II for the spring semester, 2025. She began her position as Distance Education Coordinator at the School in January 2022, and in that role, she coordinates the Online-blended MSW Program, mentors students, and is a member of the Internship Team. She received the 2018 School of Social Work Outstanding Alumna Award and the 2023 Outstanding Staff Award for the College of Natural Sciences, Farming and Agriculture (now named the College of Earth, Life and Health Sciences).
Ann is a clinical social worker who has provided individual and family therapy through her private practice since 2004. She has served as a clinical consultant in several settings, including in schools and in rape crisis work. She started her career as a case manager for children and families with mental health needs and as a school social worker, and she currently volunteers on the Curriculum, Admissions, Academic Standing, and Equity Stewardship Team. She has been a member of the National Association of Social Workers since 1997.
