* The NEBHE Regional Student Program allows students from New England states to attend the University of Maine at a reduced tuition rate for selected academic programs. Find eligible states and programs.
** The Maine Business School has an all-inclusive tuition and fee rate for its graduate business programs. These programs will not be assessed a differential tuition program rate or infrastructure & technology fee. Other course or program fees may apply, where applicable.
*** Beginning in the 2024 / 25 academic year, all graduate assistants will be assessed tuition in their own rate category equal to resident tuition. In practice, this was the case prior to this academic year since assistantships are awarded tuition waivers, which cover the cost of in-state tuition. This separate rate eliminates the additional waiver to cover the difference between resident and non-resident tuition.
Members or Veterans of the US Armed Forces

A current member of the United States Armed Forces or a Veteran of the United States Armed Forces who has been honorably discharged will be billed at the in-state (Maine resident) tuition rate. Veterans must supply a DD214, Certificate of eligibility for GI bill™, or Military ID card. Active-duty members must supply a copy of their Military ID card. All dependents using a GI Bill™ are billed at the in-state (Maine resident) tuition rate.

Please visit Veterans’ Education and Transition Services for more information.

A differential tuition charge per credit hour will be charged for each undergraduate course taken within programs offered by the Maine Business School, Maine College of Engineering & Computing, and the School of Nursing. This charge is in addition to base tuition at both the Orono and Machias campuses, and replaces numerous program, course, and lab fees.
