Maha Shivaratri is a Hindu festival celebrated annually in reverence of the God Shiva. It is the wedding night of Lord Shiva and his consort Goddess Parvati. Unlike most Hindu festivals, which are celebrated during the day, Shivaratri is celebrated at night.
