Graduate Student Travel Award


For fiscal year 2026 (1 July 2025-31 June 2026), the McGillicuddy Humanities Center will offer limited travel grants of up to $1200 to University of Maine graduate students engaged in humanistic scholarship (whether their home department is conventionally understood to be part of the humanities or not) who have won acceptance to a professional conference, workshop, or training or who require travel funds to conduct archival research, interviews, or similar scholarly work. To be eligible for the award, an application should show a commitment from a student’s home department of at least $200.

Applicants for the MHC Graduate Student Travel Award should follow the steps outlined below:

  1. Complete the Google Form linked below (note that if the form is inactive, the application cycle has not yet begun), and upload your Fellowship Proposal. Instructions and formatting guidelines are available below.
  2. Email your applications to the MHC Director.
