Maine Top Scholars
In conjunction with the Maine Top Scholars Award offered to a selected group of high-achieving High School students from Maine every year, the Maine Top Scholars (MTS) Program enables students to participate in faculty-led scholarly activities or research projects.
The current rendition of the Maine Top Scholar Program began in 2017, and in 2021 graduated the first cohort of MTS students from the Colleges of Engineering, Natural Sciences and Forestry, Liberal Arts and Sciences, the Business School and the Honors College. During their four years most MTS students conduct research projects and scholarly activities under the supervision of faculty mentors. These projects range in focus from developing rural business initiatives to working in wet labs, from conducting interviews with teens in public schools to studying mathematical models.
We are proud of all of our Maine Top Scholars for their continued dedication to academic success and professional growth, and for their contributions to their fields and to the State of Maine.
