Marshall Scholarships

Campus Deadline: July 31st, 2025

These scholarships were established in 1953 by the British government as an expression of gratitude to the U.S. for economic aid under the Marshall Plan after World War II. Typically awarded for two years, the scholarships enable postgraduate study of a wide range of subjects at any of Britain’s universities and business schools. Applications indicating interest in study at universities other than Cambridge or Oxford are especially welcome. 

  • Funding for tuition and cost of living
  • Annual book grant and thesis grant
  • Research and travel grants
  • Funding for travel to and from the U.S.
  • Where applicable: contribution towards the support of a dependent spouse
  • Be a U.S. citizen
  • Minimum GPA of 3.7
  • Hold a bachelor’s degree from an accredited U.S. institution at the time when your award period begins
