It is that time of year to witness the amazing return of the Alewife’s to Blackman Stream in Bradley Maine. These resilient fish swim their way up to Chemo Pond to spawn before making the long trek back to the sea.
Learn about migration of the Alewife’s along with the impact they would have had on indigenous civilizations, early settlers’ life, the developing logging industries that built the fishing fleets, all the way up through our modern-day fishing industries. Join us on May 17th from 10:00 to 3:00 for our Spring event to celebrate their journey. All exhibits will be open with an entry fee of $10 per adult, $5 per child ages 3 to 17.
We will have the smoke house in full operation with samples of smoked Alewife’s, Lord Byron will be working away in the Blacksmith Shop, and Lombards will be on display plus more. This is a great time to explore the grounds and maybe find something new. Keep checking back as we update you all on anything additional for this wonderous event!!
