The Lobster Institute convenes conferences and workshops to engage stakeholders in solving challenges faced by this iconic fishery. Our vision is to be a leader in ensuring a sustainable and profitable American lobster industry by fostering transparency in communication among stakeholders; and championing credible scientific research supporting lobster and ecosystem health, conservation management and industry sustainability.
US-Canada lobster town meeting
Since 2004, we have hosted this annual meeting of industry, science, and policy experts from the US and Canada to discuss the latest issues facing the resource.
North american lobster science symposium
Our inaugural meeting of lobster scientists from industry, academia, government, and the private sector was hold in Orono Maine in 2025. We hope to make this a recurring event.
