Jon Guzman

Jon is currently pursuing his Master’s in Global Policy with a concentration in Trade and Commerce through the School of Policy and International Affairs at the University of Maine. He earned his undergraduate degree in Marketing and Sports Management from the Maine Business School, where he was actively involved in campus life and worked with several departments and organizations. Those experiences gave him a deep understanding of UMaine’s community and how to help students find the right opportunities and resources.

As OIP’s Programming GA, Jon works closely with Senior Associate Director Sarah Joughin to welcome and support international students. He plays a key role in designing and implementing programs and events that foster a sense of belonging and set students up for success during their time at UMaine and beyond. Jon also collaborates with the International Student Association (ISA) to strengthen programming and advocacy for the international student community.

Passionate about helping others make meaningful connections, Jon aims to create experiences that make every student feel at home. Outside of work, you can usually find him watching sports, hitting the gym, or taking part in local community events.
