Erin-Kate Sousa is the head instructor for the Intensive English Institute (IEI), where she teaches courses for Multilingual Language Learners. She has a strong connection with the University of Maine, teaching at the IEI since 2006.
Before moving to Maine Erin-Kate lived abroad in Japan and Germany as a child, and studied abroad in Mexico as an undergrad. She has traveled extensively in South America, Asia, and Europe. Erin-Kate is sensitive to the learning needs and challenges of students living abroad. Her focus is to help them develop the skills they need to reach their goals.
Erin-Kate has a Master of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies with a focus on Second Language Acquisition and Educational Research.
Erin-Kate can help students with:
– academic support or personal issues
– proficiency testing
– intercultural communication issues
– understanding and navigating the University system
