Reason behind joining the GSG as an officer: I joined GSG to amplify student voices and increase access to resources on campus and beyond.

As an officer in the GSG, how would you like to contribute in such a way that you improve the situation for graduate students?

As Vice President, I have the opportunity to collaboratively plan the UMaine Student Symposium, which, in my opinion, is UMaine’s most impactful space for sharing research and gaining professional confidence. In my organizing role for the Symposium, I will advocate for increased access to funding for materials and opportunities for panel participation that will support graduate student success.

Long-term Career Goals: I hope to make an impact in Maine’s community climate and energy spaces, particularly in supporting rural community resilience.

Involvement in clubs and other organizations: School of Economics Graduate Club

Research at UMaine: My research seeks to understand the barriers, opportunities, and decision drivers for climate and energy resilience initiatives in rural Maine communities and Wabanaki Tribes. I look specifically at Community-Based Participatory Research as a pathway to engage meaningfully at local scales and support the long-term success of community-led climate and energy resilience projects.

Hobbies: Yoga, hiking, tennis, and reading outdoors
