Why did you decide to become a senator: I became a GSG senator because I’ve seen how important it is to create connections between students, faculty, and alumni, and I want to bring that same energy into GSG. I want to make sure student voices are heard and help build a stronger, more connected community between departments.
How would you best serve your constituents: I plan to serve my constituents by bringing student concerns and ideas to GSG meetings and making sure graduate student voices are represented. I will advocate for and keep students informed about funding and professional development opportunities. I also want to remain approachable for one on one conversations and create simple ways for students to share feedback, such as surveys or casual check ins. Also, I hope to organize events that connect graduate students socially and professionally, build stronger ties with faculty and alumni, and encourage collaboration across departments
Please tell us about your research or some fun facts: My research focuses on landslides in Maine. I study how and why these landslides happen so we can better understand the risks and support safer communities by creating new policies. Outside of research, I’m involved in many clubs, but my favorite is fiber arts. I love knitting and crocheting, and if you ever want to join our knit-alongs, just message me!
How do you plan on communicating with your constituents: I plan to communicate with my constituents through regular email updates and monthly meetings where students can share their concerns and ideas directly with the senators.
