Why did you decide to become a senator: I decided to become a senator to have a direct role in the Graduate Student Senate’s decision-making. My goal is to contribute to a better experience for all graduate students while also serving as a voice for the specific needs of my department.

How would you best serve your constituents: I will act as a direct link between my fellow graduate students in our department and the Senate. My goal is to communicate the Senate’s decisions and updates to our department.

Please tell us about your research or some fun facts: My research focuses on walking rehabilitation using robotics, especially using haptic feedback systems to improve walking stability and speed in older adults. I’m working on new ways to use technology to boost mobility and quality of life for this group, showing signs of decline in their walking performance. Outside of the lab, I’m a passionate piano player, though I don’t often have time to do it!

How do you plan on communicating with your constituents: I will try with different channels. Regular emails to the department and hosting brief check-in meetings. I will also make myself available to hear concerns and suggestions from students directly, ensuring they are always up-to-date on what the Senate is doing.
