Azerbaijan
Besides I have many hobbies. One of them is singing and song-writing. This year I wrote and performed a song devoted to Azerbaijan, together with my dear American friend, Jenny Van West.
I deeply believe that the people are so different and so much the same. Wherever we originate from, we have more in common than in opposite. To me diversity means unity and uniqueness.

Nargiz Ali Zada is originally from Baku, Azerbaijan, meaning “the land of fire”, because of the endless flames dominating Azerbaijan’s mountains throughout history. What explains why Azerbaijan is one of the oldest oil-producing countries. It is located in the Caucasus region of Eurasia, at the crossroads of Eastern Europe and Western Asia. It is bounded by the Caspian Sea and such countries as Russia, Turkey, Iran, Georgia and Armenia. 9 out of 11 climate zones are present in Azerbaijan.
There is one of the oldest human being settlements in Gobustan, Azerbaijan, UNESCO World heritage, where there are more than 6,000 ancient rock carvings bearing testimony to 40,000 years of rock art.
Another UNESCO World Heritage is Atashgah Zoroastrian Fire Temple, firstly established in the beginning of the era in the area of natural gas vents. Novruz in Azerbaijan is a traditional holiday which celebrates the Zoroastrian New Year and the coming of Spring.
Kish Church, one of the oldest churches on the earth is in Sheki, north-western Azerbaijan, founded in the 1st century, built at the times of ancient Caucasus Albania.
The Old City of Baku, dated 12th century, including the Palace of the Shirvanshahs and Maiden Tower, became the first location in Azerbaijan to be classified as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.
We, Azerbaijanis, are very proud of our nation and our old and ancient traditions, such as carpet, cuisine, music cultures and others. I was brought up in the best customs of my nation which respects and values its own culture as well as of others. It is the culture of peace, respect, hospitality and tolerance.
