Informal Title: Club Sport Assistant
Supervisor (Submit Application To): Shawn Owens, Assistant Director for Sports Clubs & Youth Programs
Purpose
The Club Sports Assistant is responsible for the safety and enforcement of club sport policies and procedures and provides excellent customer service to UMaine students/faculty/staff. This position will work alongside the Assistant Director of Club Sports to ensure club sport compliance.
Duties and Responsibilities
The responsibilities of this position include:
- Check in with club participants prior to practices and home events to ensure eligibility of participation
- Adhere to safety and risk management policies, and ensure participant safety
- Maintain club sports equipment and facilities
- Maintain a working knowledge of all Campus Recreation programs and services
- Foster strong partnerships with other members of the Club Sports team, as well as colleagues throughout Campus Recreation
- Deliver quality customer service to all patrons, program participants, and visitors
- Attend all Club Sports team meetings and trainings
- Other duties and projects as assigned.
Learning Practices:
- Develop transferable skills such as teamwork, communication, time management, organization, conflict resolution, critical thinking, and decision-making.
- Be able to articulate the value of recreation & teamwork in the overall college student experience.
- Be able to advocate to other students the benefits of participation in club sports.
Position Type – Pay Level I: $14.65
- Work Study / Work Merit: Work Study Optional
Time Commitment: Flexible with occasional nights and weekends
Supervisory Responsibilities: Games possible
