The Casey White Memorial Scholarship was established this year in memory of
Casey White, FNP. Casey had returned to college after years in the workforce to
pursue his licensure as a Family Nurse Practitioner. Casey worked full time and
went to school. Once Casey became an FNP, he practiced for over 30 years
providing health care to the people in the Houlton area region.
After his untimely passing in February of 2012, Katahdin Valley Health Center
chose to honor Casey’s memory by creating a scholarship. is scholarship will be
awarded to students, like Casey, who have been out of high school for at least one
year, and have chosen to go back to school to pursue a career in a healthcare-related
field.
