Appeal Procedures
Multiple appeal pathways exist to account for financial, academic, and personal circumstances that may impact a student’s eligibility and ability to retain financial aid.

financial considerations
Some financial factors may not be accurately reflected on the FAFSA. Common examples include a reduction in income, marital change, significant medical expenses, or no contact with parents. Schedule an advising appointment in order to learn more about whether an appeal is appropriate.
Academic considerations
Student aid eligibility can be impacted by academic performance, and both merit scholarships and federal/state financial aid may be affected. If your aid eligibility has changed due to academics, you may be able to submit an appeal, and detailed information will be sent to your MaineStreet Message Center.

Submitting Appeal Documents
All appeal documentation should be submitted via Secure Upload, the safest and most secure way to share sensitive documents.
